Just When I Thought I Was Out..

They Pull Me Back In

Yes, Google let me back in.

I have to say..when I saw the area code 650 pop up on my cell phone..it made me smile. I was just happy to finally talk to someone at Google about my ban. All I ever really wanted to do was to just have my day in court.

The guy at Google was very nice. He asked a lot of questions and listened to what I had to say. I did have to do a lot of explaining about my campaigns. We were both very clear about what I could and could not promote now. There are some strings attached with my account. I do have to have everything go through a manual review for all of my new campaigns.

Lessons Learned

1. Stay away from anything that smells "Get Rich"

On Google Search I can not promote internet marketing products. Done. You would think that I would promote those products on the other search engines?

I do not think I am going to do it.

It is not worth the risk for me anymore.

I think it is just a matter of time before that gets shut down.

I read that affiliate were banned on MSN for pushing Grant Offers.

There is plenty of room for other people to promote all of that.

I will promote internet marketing tools on search..example PPC Bully (click here)..but..I am not going to promote products.

*BONUS*

Here is one of the URLs that got me banned (this is NOT an affiliate link click here) from AdWords (confirmed). I will not write the name of the product on here. Let's just call it "He-Who-MUST-Not-Be-Named" (HWMNBN).

HWMNBN has this charisteristic:

Clickbank product
Rebill
With this type of headline copy:

Attention: Online Income Seeker, Discover The Most Effective Step-By-Step Money Making System In Existence...

"This System Makes Me At Least $171,168.06 Per Month And You
Can Start Using It 15 Minutes From Now"...

"Guaranteed to work even if you're "un-motivated"...
In fact, it's best if you only put in an hour or so per day!"

I am telling you..if you are promoting this product or something like it..watch out. Fair warning. Stay away. It will catch up when you are getting comfortable with your internet lifestyle. You will get banned from Google. You will have to explain to your family why you are such a dick to live with. I will not say I told you so..Your family and wallet will!

2. Spread Your Risk

This is one of the hardest parts that I really am going through. I lived and breathed Warren Buffett's advice:

“Put all your eggs in one basket and then watch that basket very carefully.” Alternatively, Buffett says, “Diversification is protection against ignorance.”

The thing is..I never thought I would get banned. I never felt like I was promoting harmful product (still do not).

Here it is..it is not my basket!

Different traffic (PPV,YSM, MSN)..Different niches (Astrology (not banned?) Tickets, Purses)..different offers (One time, Rebill). Spread Your risk!

3. Master things you can control

So many things.

Let me just put out one..List Building.

Ryan Deiss has a great course on List Building, "Undercover List Building System" (click here).

I own this course. It is a direction that I am now going.

The link will take you to the webinar. Please, even if you are not thinking about buying the product..watch the webinar. The webinar is a great free line.

Build your list. Be good to your list. Give more than you ever hope to get back.

Build Relationships.

I would love to hear from anyone else..advice/anything.

*Big Bonus Number 2*

What will be banned next.?

Well, from what I have been promoting it will be SEO. I know sites get banned all of the time..but..how about this prediction: All of the review and blog sites that are now being pushed (ya, look at your jammed mailbox) are blog generator software and review/bonus sites are next. Take the best parts of those courses and put it in to niches that are not "get rich"..and..get rich! Pick the right niches people! I am a super clean affiliate..I chose the wrong niche at the wrong time and was banned.

still grindin'..dw

thank you joseph and steven at google

PS no that is not me in the picture..but..I do feel that happy

  2. Copemedia-

    Thanks for the comment.

I wrote back to the Landing Page/Quality Score Team. I received a warning from LP/QS team before..so..I had the email address.

I asked the team to double check the sites that were banned. I had one confirmed site that has been banned..and..I had one site that I promoted that delivered malware. I had no idea about both sites. Both sites were Clickbank products.

I was called by Google for a more detailed explanation of my account..it was very very thorough.
